We love our cauliflower bread and pizza crust as much as the next lower-carb eater, but every once in a while you might be tempted to nibble on a piece of bread. Even Primal Kitchen founder Mark Sisson has been spotted biting into a fresh-baked slice of high-quality bread at a restaurant, and he doesn’t stress about it. 

For those times when you want something to mop up the saucy drippings of a cozy stew or skillet of marinara-sauced meatballs, want an oozing, scrumptious handheld for watching the game but can’t muster the energy to make pizza, or plan to host family supper with picky kids in attendance, our gluten-free garlic bread recipes can be your saving grace. Even with gluten-free bread, our garlic bread has a crackly crust, oven-toasted interior made luscious with oil and butter, lightly sweet but assertive garlic essence, and sprinkle of chopped fresh parsley. For an easy pizza shortcut, add shredded mozzarella to the garlic bread, pop under the broiler until the cheese begins to puddle and blister, and serve with warmed tomato basil marinara sauce.

Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

No-Dairy Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Bread Srsly
  • ¼ cup Primal Kitchen Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • ¼ cup grass-fed butter or ghee
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup chopped Italian parsley
  • 2 cloves chopped or grated garlic

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF.
  • Cut loaf of bread in half. Place bread halves on a large baking sheet and toast in oven for 5 minutes.

Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Warm until butter is dissolved and starting to froth. When frothy, add garlic and salt. Stir.

No-Dairy Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

  • Cook garlic oil and butter mixture for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add chopped parsley.
  • Remove bread from oven and brush on garlic oil and butter mixture evenly on both sides.
  • Toast bread in the oven for another 5 to 6 minutes, or until bread is golden at the edges. Remove from oven and place on a cutting board to slice. 

No-Dairy Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

Cheesy Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

Cheesy Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Bread Srsly
  • ¼ cup Primal Kitchen Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • ¼ cup grass-fed butter or ghee
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup chopped Italian parsley
  • 2 cloves chopped or grated garlic
  • ½ cup finely shredded low-moisture, part-skim mozzarella
  • Optional: Primal Kitchen Tomato Basil Marinara Sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425ºF.
  • Cut loaf of bread in half. Place bread halves on a large baking sheet and toast in oven for 5 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Warm until butter is dissolved and starting to froth. When frothy, add garlic and salt. Stir.

Gluten-Free Garlic Bread

  • Cook garlic oil and butter mixture for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add chopped parsley.
  • Remove bread from oven and brush on garlic oil and butter mixture evenly on both sides.
  • Toast bread in the oven for another 5 to 6 minutes, or until bread is golden at the edges.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle each half loaf evenly with mozzarella cheese.
  • Turn the oven to broil. Slide bread under broiler until the cheese is completely melted and starting to blister and turn light brown in spots.
  • Remove bread and place on a cutting board to slice. 
  • If serving with marinara sauce, warm sauce in a small pot on the stove and serve alongside the sliced cheesy garlic bread.
