INTRODUCTION BY MARK SISSON
In this edition of Sauté Magazine’s “Paleo 101”, Mark Sisson discusses primal living, and the impetus behind his decision to found Primal Kitchen. Following years of a brutal training regime and an inflammatory diet, Mark dove into the newest health research, changed his diet, and became an expert in the primal lifestyle.
Writing the famous health and wellness blog, Mark’s Daily Apple, and then diving into the creation of bestselling books, The Primal Blueprintand Primal Endurance, Mark dramatically changed the lives of thousands of people. Still, when he realized how difficult it was for many of those whom he knew to get the health and nutrition they needed, especially when it came to condiments, oils, energy bars, and shakes, he decided he needed to do something about it. Primal Kitchen is designed to provide people with the protein, healthy fats, and vitamins and minerals they need to live their lives to the fullest.
PRIMAL EATING 101
So what is primal eating, anyways?
The basics of primal eating include high-quality protein, healthy fats and oils (think nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut oil, and olive oil), plenty of colorful vegetables, and moderate amounts of fruit.
Primal eating cuts out processed foods and sugars, and includes moderate amounts of full-fat dairy, properly prepared beans and legumes, wild rice, and quinoa.
PRIMAL KITCHEN
Mark is a full believer in the power of food in changing people’s lives, explaining that a diet shift can, “lift you up to new heights of wellness and vitality.”
At Primal Kitchen®, we don’t allow anything processed or artificial into any of our products. There are no added sugars, no soybean or canola oils, no partially hydrogenated or trans fats, no gluten…nothing but real. food.
